Livingston Central jumped out of the gate with three first inning runs and cruised to an 11-0 district win at Trigg County on Tuesday.
The win moved the Lady Cardinals to 3-1 with Tuesday’s game their district opener. Livingston will play at Lyon County on Thursday.
Each of Livingston Central’s first seven batters had multiple hits and accounted for 15 of the Lady Cardinals’ 16 hits.
Hadley Hargrove got things going for Livingston with a two-run single in the first inning. A Trigg error allowed a third run to cross the plate.
A double by Victoria Joiner in the second inning, followed by a single by Addison Tramble and a sacrifice fly by Hargrove, plated their fourth run.
Livingston Central scored three more runs in the fourth, highlighted by an RBI double by Tramble and a run-scoring hit by Chloe Doyle.
Hargrove led off the sixth inning with a home run to right field, her first of the season. She finished the game 3-for-4 with five RBI.
Irelynn Burns had two hits and two RBI, and Joiner, Tramble, Emersyn Ramage, Chloe Doyle, and Baylee Neal each rapped out two hits.
Lily Eagleson didn’t pitch poorly for the Lady Wildcats, but she got little support from her defense and even less from the offense.
Trigg committed four errors that led to four unearned runs and a rising pitch count. However, she had a six-pitch third inning, a nine-pitch fourth inning, and a 13-pitch sixth inning. Eagleson struck out 11 batters and walked just one.
Tramble, meanwhile, also struck out 11 and didn’t allow a Trigg County hit until Eagleson led off the bottom of the fifth inning with a single.
Trigg’s best chance to score came in the sixth inning when a Veyda Grinols walk and Kady Fuller’s single got runners to second and third. But Tramble induced a strikeout to end the threat. The Livingston eighth grader allowed two hits and issued two walks.
Livingston Central has won nine straight games over Trigg County dating back to 2019.
The Lady Wildcats are 2-3 and 1-1 in district play. They will host Webster County on Thursday and Crittenden County on Friday.
