Caldwell Sets 2 School Marks at Muhlenberg Invitational

Cooper Mobley claimed a pair of first-place finishes as the Caldwell County track and field team saw its first action of the season Saturday at the Muhlenberg County Invitational.

Caldwell athletes also set two school records at the competition.

Mobley won the discus event with a throw of 146 feet, 6 inches. That distance is a new school mark. He also took the shot put with a toss of 45 feet, 8.5 inches.

Jackson Risley had a third-place showing in the 300-meter hurdles in 45.20 seconds. Jacob Forsythe was seventh in that event at 50.35.

Caldwell did well in the relay events. The 4×200 team placed third in 1:37.43. The 4×100 was fourth in 45.93 seconds. The 4×400 squad placed fourth in 3:49.52. The 4×800 was eighth in 9:52.01.

Charles Ray finished sixth in the 800-meter run in 2:21.74.

Tre Copeland was seventh in the 400 dash in 57.35 seconds.

Xvaier Lee was ninth in the long jump at 17 feet, 5 inches.
Lee just missed a Top 10 showing in the 200 dash, placing 11th in 24.50 seconds.

Evan Ramage placed 10th in the 3,200-meter run in 11:46.99. Johnathon Adams was 12th in that event in 12:24.64.

Risley was 11th in the triple jump at 35 feet, 4 inches. He was 12th in the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches.

For Caldwell’s girls, Audrey McCoy won the high jump competition and set a school record with a jump of 5 feet, 1 inch. Brilee Hubbard was 10th in that event at 4 feet.

Medeline Thomas ran to a second-place finihs in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.23. Mariah Vickery was 12th in 1:13.05.

Caldwell’s 4×200-meter relay team was second in 1:56.85. The 4×400 was third in 4:44.58. The 4×800 was fifth in 11:59.95. The 4×100 relay was seventh in 56.39 seconds.

Benashka Thomas placed fifth in the triple jump at 30 feet, 2.5 inches. Addison Middleton-Mobley was seventh at 29 feet, 5, inches.

Middleton-Mobley was sixth in the long jump at 13 feet, 11.5 inches. Chevy McGowan was ninth in that event at 13 feet, 3.5 inches.

Benashka Thomas placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 25 feet, 2 inches.

Emily Klidzejs took seventh in the 300-meter hurdles in 1:01.78. Ivy Lopez was 12th in 1:05.16.

Middleton-Mobley was ninth in the 100 dash in 14.08 seconds.

McGowan was 10th in the 200 dash in 29.49 while Hubbard was 11th in 29.54.

The Lady Tigers finished sixth out of 18 schools in the team standings with 52 points. Owensboro won the meet with 117 points, follwed by Ballard Memorial (75) and McCracken County (74). Owensboro Catholic (72.5) was fourth with Logan County (56) fifth.

Caldwell’s guys placed eighth with 51 points. Paducah Tilghman was first with 86 followed by Christian County (76), Hopkinsville (69), University Heights (63) and Muhlenberg County (61).

The Caldwell track squad will next compete in the Invitational of the South at Marshall County. That event is now set for Friday night at 5:30 p.m.
