Hopkins County Central Opens Track Season at Muhlenberg County

The Hopkins County Central girls’ track and field team opened the 2025 season at the Muhlenberg County Invitational on Saturday.

Aubrey Thompson was 13th in the 100-meter hurdles and 26th in the 200 meters in 33.71 seconds.

Ryleigh Sailing was 14th in the 100-meter hurdles in 26.87 seconds.

Rayna Hughes was 19th in the 100-meter dash in 15.29 seconds.

Stevette Combs was 23rd in the 100-meter dash in 15.93 seconds.

Anijah Couch was 27th in the 400 meters in 1:20.41.

Maria Kerby was 29th in the 400 meters in 1:22.79 and 33rd in the 800 meters in 3:27.76.

Jenna Fairchild was 32nd in the 800 meters in 3:27.03.

Tamia Haynes was 34th in the 400 meters in 1:35.18.

Railee Knight was 36th in the 100-meter dash in 18.41 seconds.

In the relays, the 3200-meter team was ninth in 14:24.16; the 1600-meter team was 13th in 6:00.34; the 400-meter team was 15th in 1:10.97; and the 800-meter team was 15th in 2:10.16.

Meanwhile, the guys had a pair of top-five finishes at Muhlenberg County.

Landon Posey finished second in the 1600-meter dash, covering the four laps around the track in 4:58.61.

CaNie Armstead finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 19.81 seconds and was 21st place in the 100-meter dash in 12.45 seconds. Armstead also took seventh place in the long jump at 17-8.75.

Sam Martin was eighth in the 400-meter dash in 57.42 seconds.

Kaiden Devargas finished 15th in the 1600-meter dash in 5:40.38.

Dominic Vignone was 25th in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.43.

Todd Payne came in 30th place in the 400 meters in 1:08.22.

Riley Dunlap came in 36th place in the 100-meter dash in 13.74 seconds.

Elijah Combs was 41st in the 100 meters in 14.85 seconds.

Travin Qualls finished 40th in the 200-meter dash in 39.13 seconds and was 43rd in the 100-meter dash in 16.65 seconds.

In the relays, the Storm finished third in the 3200 meters, eighth in the 1600 meters, 15th in the 400 meters, and 17th in the 800 meters.

In the field events, Lathan Pearson was 18th in the discus throw at 81-3.

Bradley Webster came in 27th in the long jump in 13-6.75.

Dariyon Walker was 32nd in the long jump at 9-10.25.

Zach Demoss finished 27th in the shot put at 29-8.5 and was 38th in the discus throw at 67-10.

As a team, the Storm finished in 12th place with 23 points.
