Smith, Maroons Return to the Track Looking for More Medals in 2025

Trashuan Smith opened the defense of his state high jump title with a first-place finish at the Muhlenberg County Invitational on Saturday.

Smith cleared the bar at 6 feet 2 inches to claim first. He also finished second in the triple jump at 40-7.5 and was sixth in the long jump at 17-9.5.

Manny Burrus was eighth in the 100-meter dash in 11.93 seconds.

Clayton Gunkel was eighth in the 300-meter hurdles in 50.77 seconds.

Kirk LaGrange was 10th in the long jump at 17-4.25 and was 16th in the 100-meter dash in 12.28 seconds. He also took 16th place in the shot put at 34-4.5.

Hayden Briggs was 18th in the 400 meters in 1:02.31.

Colin Civils was 20th in the 200-meter dash in 25.56 seconds.

Preston Sandberg was 22nd in the 400-meter dash in 1:04.77.

Hunter Barnes was 23rd in the 400 meters in 1:05.58.

Brady Marsh was 23rd in the 200-meter dash in 25.71 seconds.

Nate Hodges was 25th in the 200-meter dash in 26.04 seconds.

Trevor Fox was 25th in the 800-meter run in 2:33.79.

Joseph Gunn came in 30th in the 200 meters in 26.62 seconds.

Bryson Shoulders was 33rd in the 100-meter dash in 13.38 seconds.

Connor Jernigan was 34th in the 1600 meters in 6:53.19.

Bryant Daicus was 35th in the 100-meter dash in 13.71 seconds.

Camden Crowley was 35th in the 800-meter dash in 2:53.18.

Eduardo Diaz was 35th in the 400-meter dash in 1:13.38.

Gavin Pendley was 36th in the 1600 meters in 6:58.66.

Landon Blackburn was 39th in the 800-meter dash in 3:04.35.

Caleb Guck was 39th in the 1600 meters in 7:50.59 and was 42nd in the 800 meters in 3:25.42.

Oren Guck was 40th in the 1600 meters in 7:57.75.

In the field events, Lucas Wilson was sixth in the discus throw at 99-10 and 18th in the shot put at 33-11.

Micah Morgan was 13th in the discus throw at 91 feet and 17th in the shot put at 34-2.

Gage Kinney was 11th in the shot put at 36-2.5 and was 17th in the discus throw at 88-2.

The 400-meter relay was seventh in 47.02 seconds; the 1600-meter relay team was seventh in the 1600-meter relay in 3:54.30; the 800-meter relay team was eighth in 1:41.55; and the 3200-meter relay team was 14th in 11:17.86.

As a team, Madisonville finished in ninth place with 33 points.

Meanwhile, the Lady Maroons came in ninth place.

Myla Hughes finished in fifth place in the 100-meter dash in 13.42 seconds.

McKinley Wilson came in sixth place in the 100-meter dash in 13.51 seconds.

Yara Rida came in 17th place in the 400-meter dash in 1:16.09.

Eliana Garrett was 25th in the 200-meter dash in 33.70 seconds.

Pashence Browder came in 26th place in the 100 meters in 16.26 seconds.

Brooklyn Dennis was 27th in the 200-meter dash in 33.80 seconds.

Lillian Coble came in 28th place in the 200 meters in 33.81 seconds.

Nelli Leal was 30th in the 800 meters in 3:19.82.

Dalaisha Henderson was 33rd in the 100-meter dash in 17.84 seconds.

In the relays, the 400-meter team was sixth in 56.23; the 1600-meter team was 10th in 5:17.62; and the 800-meter team was 12th in 2:05.59.

In the field events, Myla Hughes was third in the shot put at 25-11 and was fourth in the discus throw at 82-9.

Keeley Peyton came in sixth in the discus throw in 69-3 and 15th in the shot put at 22-3.

Kristina Western finished seventh in the high jump in 4-4.

Keira Sherman was 10th in the shot put at 23-1.5.

Nelli Leal was 13th in the discus throw in 55-2.

As a team, Madisonville finished in ninth place with 26 points – eight behind eighth place Paducah Tilghman and three more than 11th place Hopkinsville.
