Caldwell’s Girls Sweep 7th District Tilts from Dawson Springs

A pair of 18-run first innings highlighted Caldwell County’s doubleheader sweep of Dawson Springs in 7th District softball action Friday in Princeton.

The Lady Tigers won by scores of 18-0 and 22-0 in a pair of three-inning contests.

Adley Lewis was 5-for-5 in the twinbill and drove in seven runs as the Lady Tigers improved to 3-4 overall and 3-1 in district play.

Lewis slammed a two-run home run in her first at-bat of the day and finished game one 3-for-3 with a triple, a homer and five RBIs.

Tink Clark was 3-for-3 with a triple in the opener while Josie Palm was 2-for-2.

Brylee Butts was 1-for-2 with a double and two RBIs.

Jackie Farmer doubled and had three runs batted.

Farmer was also the winning pitcher. She retired all nine batters she faced and struck out four.

In the second game, Butts was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and five runs batted in. Lewis was 2-for-2 and knocked in two.

Harper Holeman was 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two RBIs and three runs scored.

Daelen Kizzee was 2-for-2. Kayliana Bender also doubled for Caldwell in the second game.

Sydney Glisson retired all nine batters she faced to pick up the win in the pitching circle. She struck out five.

Dawson Springs is now 0-5 and 0-2.
