The Caldwell County Tigers pushed their early-season win streak to six games on Friday.

Channing Puckett and Ethan Ramage combined to two-hit Union County, and the Tigers made two first-inning runs stand up in a 2-0 triumph over the Braves.

Puckett went the first 5.1 innings, allowing both hits while striking out eight and walking five.

Ramage then shut the door on Union, striking out two while retiring all five batters he faced to earn the save.

Meanwhile, Caldwell (6-1) got all the offense it needed thanks to two-out RBI singles from Drew Stevens and Derek Wilson in the top of the first inning.

Luke Parker singled with one out and scored the first run.

Ari Wells walked behind Parker and scored the second run.

Parker was the only player in the game with multiple base hits, going 2-for-3.

Collin Whittington, Westin King, Stevens and Wilson each had singles.

Coltin Capps also pitched well for Union. He went all seven innings, surrendering two earned runs on six hits while striking out six and walking one.

Brady Greenwell and Will Bolden each singled for the Braves.

Caldwell will try to continue its winning ways on Saturday when it hosts Calloway County (3-1) at 11 a.m. at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
