Lady Wildcats Sweep Games with Kirkwood and Massac

The Trigg County Lady Wildcats put an end to their four-game losing skid Saturday. Trigg won a pair of games over out-of-state teams at the Trigg County Recreation Complex, nipping Kirkwood 3-2 and then turning back Massac County 6-3.

In the win over Kirkwood, Trigg got an RBI double from Lily Eagleson with one out in the top of the 6th to get the one-run win.

Playing as the visiting team, Trigg County got a sac fly from Livia Breckel and then an RBI single from Eagleson to take a 2-0 lead just a half-inning into the game.

Kirkwood tied the game up at 2-2 with a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the fourth.

Lily Eagleson led Trigg County at the plate, going 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Eagleson got the start in the circle but it was Tember Oliver who got the win, pitching the final three innings, giving up no runs on just one hit, striking out three, and walking none.

Against Massac County, Trigg scored in every inning but the first as the Lady Wildcats took the 6-3 win.

The Lady Patriots took a brief 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Trigg County came back with two in the bottom of the second. Jayden Visingardi had an RBI single in the inning and the Lady Wildcats scored on a Massac error.

After the Lady Patriots tied it at 2-2 in the top of the third, the Lady Wildcats took advantage of another error in the bottom of the inning to go back up 3-2. Yet another Massac error and a dropped third strike allowed Trigg County to push the lead out to 5-2 in the bottom of the fourth.

A Lady Patriot home run trimmed the lead to 5-3 in the top of the fifth. Jayden Visengardi got the Lady Wildcats a big insurance run in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI double to make it 6-3. The game ended due to time limit in the bottom of the fifth.

Trigg County (5-4) outhit Massac County 9 to 4 for the game. Tember Oliver was 3-3 with a run scored. Jayden Visengardi ended up 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Tember Oliver pitched all five innings for Trigg County, giving up three runs, two of them earned, on four hits, striking out six and walking none.
