Caldwell County High School senior Cade Rowland wasn’t ready for his high school athletic career to end.
Rowland has spent years on the Tiger basketball team, helping the squad go 16-11 this past season and 19-14 a year ago.
Rowland was fourth on the squad at 7.7 points a game this season.
However, with his basketball career behind him, Rowland decided to pick up a new sport.
He joined the Caldwell tennis team, and is now hoping to earn a spot in the state tournament later this spring in Lexington.
Rowland is teaming with fellow senior Cason Littlejohn for doubles, and the duo appears to be very much in contention for a state spot after a strong start to the season.
Your Sports Edge spoke with Rowland on Thursday following both singles and doubles wins over Lyon County at the CCHS tennis courts.
