Hoptown Takes Fifth Place at Invitational of the South

In a track meet that extended late into Friday night and early Saturday, Hopkinsville finished in fifth place at the Invitational of the South at Marshall County High School.

Treston Kay had the lone Hopkinsville win, taking first in the triple jump with a personal best of 42 feet, 1 inch.

Keyshun Teal was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.41 seconds and second in the 300-meter hurdles in 42.80 seconds. He also came in 14th place in the 200 meters in 24.10 seconds.

Elijah Reid came in third place in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.50 seconds.

Savior Davis came in seventh place in the 800 meters in 2:09.05.

Kayden Humphrey was ninth in the 110-meter hurdles in 18.92 seconds and 12th in the 300-meter hurdles in 47.46 seconds.

James Bradley Jr. was 11th in the 100-meter dash in 11.50 seconds.

Carlo Jones was 13th in the 400-meter dash in 56.71 seconds.

Jaylen Ray was 20th in the 200-meter dash in 24.61 seconds.

LaMareon Jeffers was 20th in the 800-meter dash in 2:19.95.

Thomas Laliberte was 25th in the 200-meter dash in 24.96 seconds.

Tavares Burgess was 26th in the 400 meters in 1:00.17.

Henry Caudill was 27th in the 800 meters in 2:28.96.

Aveon Teal was 48th in the 100-meter dash in 12.81 seconds.

In the relays, the 3200-meter team of Savior Davis, Carlo Jones, LaMareon Jeffers, and Henry Caudill finished in fourth place in 9:07.34 and came in fifth place in the 1600 meters in 3:57.18.

The 400-meter team of Elijah Reid, Thomas Laliberte, Kayden Humphrey, and James Bradley Jr. came in sixth place in 45.79 seconds.

The 800 team of Humphrey, Treston Kay, Jaylen Ray, and Keyshun Teal finished in ninth place in 1:36.07.

In the field events, Treston Kay followed his triple jump win with a fifth-place finish in the long jump at 19-7.

James Bradley Jr. came in 10th place in the high jump at 5-6.

Elijah Reid was 11th in the triple jump at 36-8.5.

Carlo Jones was 11th in the high jump at 5-4.

Jaylen Ray was 11th in the long jump at 18-6 and was 16th in the high jump at 5-2.

Alden Marshall was 19th in the shot put at 37-2 and 20th in the discus throw at 103-10.

LaTravean Sharber was 24th in the long jump at 16-3.25.

Demontrez Rogers came in 29th place in the shot put at 31-11 and was 40th in the discus throw at 69-6.

Drew Thorson finished 33rd in the discus throw at 78-11 and was 47th in the shot put at 25-7.

As a team, Hopkinsville finished in fifth place in the 25-team field with 56 points, 12 points ahead of sixth-place Murray and eight points behind fourth-place Fort Campbell.
