Hargrove Shines for Trigg County at the Invitational of the South

Trigg County hurdler Braxton Hargrove notched a top-10 finish at the Invitational of the South, which was the best time for a Trigg athlete in 18 years.

Hargrove finished in sixth place in the 300-meter hurdles in 45.20 seconds. His time was the eighth fastest in school history and the best since Robert Sholar in 2007.

David Cavanaugh came in 10th place in the 400-meter dash in 54.98 seconds.

Dekon Perry was 13th in the 800-meter dash in 2:14.43.

Carter Shepherd finished 14th in the 100-meter dash in 11.59 seconds and 17th in the 200-meter dash in 24.46 seconds.

Brody Renfroe was 15th in the 800 meters in 2:15.77.

Grant Gallogly was 28th in the 1600-meter run in 5:57.81.

Max Disney came in 36th place in the 400 meters in 1:02.52.

Travis Cavanaugh finished 39th in the 200 meters in 27.12 seconds and 47th in the 100-meter dash in 12.79 seconds.

Zamonte Cavanaugh finished in 46th place in the 400-meter dash in 1:09.78.

Mykai Anderson was 57th in the 100 meters in 13.50 seconds.

In the relays, the 3200-meter relay team of David Cavanaugh, Dekon Perry, Braxton Hargrove, and Brody Renfroe came in third place with a time of 8:57.44.

The 400 team of Mykai Anderson, Carter Shepherd, Travis Cavanaugh, and Connor Fitzhugh came in 13th place in 50.17 seconds.

The 800 team of Anderson, Cavanaugh, Shepherd, and Braxton Hargrove also finished in 13th place, completing the circuits in 1:39.98.

In the field events, Thye White through the shot put 34-9 to finish in 26th place.

In the long jump, Connor Fitzhugh finished in 36th place (14-1), and Malik Dixon (13-2) was 40th.

As a team, Trigg County finished in 18th place with nine points.
