Madisonville North Hopkins boys soccer players Dru Lile and Eli Redpath made their semi-pro soccer debut Saturday night in Bowling Green FC’s 3-1 loss to FC Leopards.

Lile, the Maroons’ all-time leader in games played, started and had a strong shift at center back in a role he’s not accustomed to, typically deputizing as a center midfielder.

Redpath, who set the modern-day (post-mercy rule) scoring record for the Maroons with 105 career goals, entered the match at halftime and made an instant impact, heading home the equalizer in the 58th minute.

Bowling Green FC is a member of the United Premier Soccer League. UPSL is considered the 4th tier in the US Soccer pyramid, serving as a competitive platform for semi-professional and amateur clubs.

Both Lile and Redpath are expected to announce their college soccer commitments in the coming weeks.
