Trigg County outhit Marshall County 6 to 5 Tuesday evening but could not convert those hits into runs as the Wildcats lost 6-0 in Draffenville. The loss ended a two-game winning streak for Trigg County.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning. The Marshals used a Trigg County error and three hit batters to score the first run of the game. Hudson Doughty then cleared the bases with a three-run double to give Marshall County a 4-0 lead
The Marshals added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth and another in the bottom of the sixth to lock up the win.
Jon Humphries led the Wildcats at the plate, going 2-3. Chase Hampton, Haydon Reynolds, James Garnett, and Carson Kline had one hit each.
Chase Hampton got the start on the mound and was charged with the loss for Trigg County (3-4). He went 4 innings, giving up four runs, none of them earned, on just two hits, striking out six and walking one. Hampton was charged with 5 hit batters.
