
Easton Bourland captured two school records as part of three top-three finishes at the Invitational of the South at Marshall County on Friday.
The Dawson Springs sophomore finished second in the 3200-meter run in 10:29.54, besting Deacon Dever’s school mark set at last year’s state meet by 25 seconds.
Bourland also finished in second place in the 1600 meters in 4:32.67, besting his own mark set 11 days prior by nearly seven seconds.
He just missed a school record in the 800 meters by 1.3 seconds. His time of 2:02.63 was good for third place in the race.
Meanwhile, Sean Stallins came in ninth place in the 300-meter hurdles in 46.91 seconds. He was also 35th in the 200-meter dash in 26.68 seconds and finished in 51st place in the 100-meter dash in 12.94 seconds.
Riley Buntin came in 32nd in the 800 meters in 2:38.56 and 61st in the 100 meters in 13.98 seconds.
Chase Miles was 33rd in the 800 meters in 2:38.78 and was 58th in the 100-meter dash in 13.54 seconds.
Matthew Stanley was 44th in the 200-meter dash in 28.17 seconds.
In the field events, Chase Miles was 22nd in the high jump at five feet.
Jacob Hines placed 31st in the discus throw at 83-1 and 31st in the shot put at 31-6.
Matthew Stanley came in 38th place in the long jump at 13-5.5.
Ty Marshall came in 41st place in the discus throw at 69-4.
Zachary Creekmur was 44th in the discus throw at 69 feet.
As a team, Dawson Springs finished in 13th place with 22 points.
