Todd County Central took advantage of eight Calloway County errors on Tuesday to prevail 5-3, extending the Lady Rebels’ winning streak to five games to improve to 5-1.
Todd Central led 2-0 in the bottom of the third before Rylann Griggs singled to push the third run across, and a Calloway error allowed another run after Olivia Weikel doubled.
Lady Rebel pitcher Addison Woodall cruised through the first six frames, allowing only three baserunners. But Gabrielle Yocum doubled to lead off the Calloway seventh, and a pair of passed balls and a catcher’s interference allowed the Lady Lakers to plate three runs. However, with the tying run at the plate, Abby Craig relieved Woodall to coax a double play and end the game.
Woodall earned the win, surrendering three runs, one earned, on five hits with a pair of walks and nine strikeouts over six and a third. Woodall and Weikel paced the Lady Rebels with two hits each.
Calloway County slipped to 0-11, with Hailee Jones taking the loss in the circle after allowing five runs, only one earned, on seven hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
The Lady Rebels will try to extend their winning streak on Thursday when they travel to Hopkinsville to face Christian County.
