On a night when the teams combined for 12 errors, Christian County poured on the late-inning offense to pull away from Todd County Central 18-6 on Thursday in Elkton.

Jazzy Tejada launched a two-run home run to give the Lady Colonels a 3-0 lead with only one out in the top of the first, and back-to-back RBI singles by Alondra Rodriquez and Tejada stretched the margin to 7-0 in the second.

Jayda Turner’s RBI triple and run-scoring singles from Avery Adcock and Rodriquez put the Lady Colonels on the verge of an early night with an 11-0 lead after three innings.

However, the Lady Rebels pushed three runs across in their half of the third and added three more in the fifth, including a two-run double by Dakotah Gammon, to make things interesting at 11-6.

Adcock tripled in the sixth, part of a five-hit night, and four runs on Todd Central errors gave the Lady Colonels a 15-6 advantage.  They continued to pile it on in the top of the seventh with two more runs on Lady Rebel miscues and an RBI double by Chloe Almy for the final margin.

Alyssa Petterson earned the win in the circle, allowing six runs, two earned, on six hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts over seven innings.

Rodriquez and Tejada both drove in three runs for the Lady Colonels, Almy finished with two hits and two RBI, and Jayda Turner drove in a pair of runs.

Christian County improved to 6-3 with its third win in four outings ahead of a trip to Owensboro to face Apollo on Saturday.

Olivia Weikel took the loss as the Lady Rebels slipped to 5-2.  She surrendered 14 runs, six earned, on 11 hits with four walks and six strikeouts.  Gammon finished with two hits and two RBI.

Todd Central will be on the road on Friday for a matchup with Hopkins County Central.
