The Caldwell County boys’ soccer team has a new head coach.
Cesar Turmero moves from assistant coach to head coach for the Tigers.
Turmero met with returning members of the team Friday morning at the high school.
He takes over from Tanner Reed, who announced at the soccer banquet in December that he was was stepping down after six seasons at the Tiger helm.
Turmero is familiar with the Tigers not just from his time as assistant coach, but he also coached many of the players on rec and club teams.
His twin sons, Colin and Kale, will be sophomores on the Tigers this fall.
Caldwell went 4-12-2 with a young squad last season, but returns a strong portion of that team.
