Turned out to be a tough trip up the highway to Leitchfield Friday evening for the Hopkins County Central Storm. Grayson County had its offense going and defeated Hopkins Central 17-7 in five innings.
Hopkins Central led 3-0 after Neilan Bruce’s two-run single in the second. Grayson County responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, then scored six in the third and seven in the fourth, taking a 15-7 lead.
Grayson County ended the game via the 10-run rule with two runs in the fifth.
Hopkins Central had five hits, including Bruce’s RBI single, and five errors. Levi Stanley, Cameron White, and Tristan Schmaltz allowed 11 hits and 7 earned runs with one strikeout.
Hopkins Central’s record is now 2-9. They play Madisonville-North Hopkins at home on Saturday.
