Big Inning Carries Owensboro Knights Past Lady Warriors

One big inning was enough to do in the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors Saturday. The Owensboro Knights scored 12 runs in the top of the third on the way to a 14-1 win on the Lady Warriors’ home field.

The Knights got on the board in their first at-bat, plating two runs in the top of the first to take the early 2-0 lead.

Owensboro then erupted in the third inning to put the game away. The Knights took advantage of seven walks and two hit batters to ignite the back rally. Owensboro added 7 hits in the inning as a total of 18 batters went to the plate.

Heritage Christian got on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning on a steal of home by Kynlee Henderson.

The Knights outhit the Lady Warriors 13 to 3 for the game. Madison Warren, Lily Anderson, and Ava DeJager had one hit each for Heritage Christian.

The Lady Warriors drop to 3-3 with the loss.
