Caldwell County’s girls will play for the 2nd Region All A Classic championship on Monday after dismissing Dawson Springs in semifinal round action Friday.
The Lady Tigers scored 16 times in the first inning while defeating the Lady Panthers 18-0 in three innings in action at Lady Tiger Field in Princeton.
Caldwell (5-4) sent 19 batters to the plate in the bottom of the first. Brylee Butts batted three times in the frame, going 3-for-3 with a home run and four runs batted in.
The Lady Tigers finished the day with 14 base hits, and also used four walks and five Dawson errors to score 18 times.
The Lady Tigers have won 22 straight matchups with Dawson Springs, including two victories earlier this season.
Caldwell leads all-time 33-12 but the Lady Panthers have not won in the series since the 2013 season.
Harper Holeman was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Daelen Kizzee finished 2-for-2 and knocked in three.
Tink Clark was 2-for-3 and drove in four while Josie Palm was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Adley Lewis was 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI. Grace Watson was 1-for-1 with two runs batted in.
Jackie Farmer was 1-for-2 at the plate and also picked up the pitching win. She struck out two and retired all three batters she faced as the Lady Tigers used three different pitchers in the contest.
Sydney Glisson pitched the second inning while Addison McDaniel handled the third.
Dawson (0-6) had just two baserunners — both on walks.
The Lady Tigers were originally scheduled to go to Christian County on Friday but that game was moved after the All A Classic got pushed back. Caldwell’s girls will now go to Christian Saturday morning for a 10 a.m. game.
The Lady Tigers will then host Livingston for the 2nd Region All A championship on Monday.
The Lady Cardinals (7-2) advanced with a 4-1 win over Lyon County Friday night in Princeton.
