Colonels See One Get Away Against Paducah Tilghman

The Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado rallied from a four-run deficit to tie the game and then scored the winning run in the top of the 8th Saturday as the Tornado upended the Christian County Colonels 9-8. The win was the second in less than 24 hours for Tilghman over the Colonels.

The Blue Tornado defeated Christian County 6-3 Friday night in Paducah.

The Colonels’ late-game defense, or lack thereof, told the story in this game. Christian County led 5-3 going into the fifth and then 8-4 going into the sixth.

The Colonels’ defense was charged with six errors during the 5th and 6th innings as Tilghman made its comeback.

Christian County scored two in the first to go up 2-0. After Tilghman plated a run in the third, the Colonels scored two more in the bottom of the third and one in the fourth to run the lead out to 5-1.

The Christian County miscues negated another solid start from Nolan Young. The freshman went five innings and gave up seven runs, however, only three of those were earned runs. He struck out seven and walked two.

Aiden Lewis had another big game at the plate for Christian County, going 3-5 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Blake Boehman ended up 2-3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.

The loss drops Christian County to 8-6 on the season. The Colonels are set to go to Logan County on Tuesday.
