Livingston Central is back in the 2nd Region All A Classic championship game.
Addison Tramble struck out nine and scattered five base hits as the Lady Cardinals turned back Lyon County 4-1 Friday night in the semifinals in Princeton.
Tramble also slammed a two-run home run in the fourth inning and finished 2-for-4 at the plate as the defending All A state champions have put themselves one game away from returning to Owensboro for the state tournament.
Livingston (7-2) grabbed an early 1-0 lead on a two-out RBI double by Emersyn Ramage in the bottom of the first inning.
Victoria Joiner singled home a run in the second to put the Lady Cardinals up 2-0.
Joiner then extended the fourth inning when she singled to right with two outs. Tramble followed with her blast to left to make it 4-0.
Lyon (3-5) broke up the shutout in the top of the sixth. Courtney Collins singled to start the frame, then scored on Lilly Perry’s one-out double to the fence in left. However, the inning ended with a runner being thrown out at the plate after Ava Prow singled to center.
That proved to be the Lady Lyons’ last chance, as Tramble retired Lyon in order in the seventh, finishing the game with a strikeout.
Joiner finished 2-for-4 for Livingston, which outhit Lyon 8-5.
Olivia Moore was 2-for-3 with a double for Lyon while Perry was 1-for-2 with a double.
Perry suffered the loss in the pitching circle. She allowed three earned runs while striking out four and walking five.
The Lady Lyons return to their regular-season schedule on Saturday with a trip to Ballard Memorial.
Livingston will play in a tournament in Evansville on Saturday before facing Caldwell County Monday for the 2nd Region All A championship.
Caldwell (5-4) advanced to the final by routing Dawson Springs 18-0 in three innings on Friday.
