After being shut out by Caldwell County Saturday morning, the Christian County Lady Colonels hit the road and came back with a shutout of their own Saturday afternoon. Alyssa Petterson threw a complete game 5-hitter as the Lady Colonels blanked the Apollo E-Gals 4-0.
Petterson did not get a strikeout for the game but she also did not give up a walk over her seven innings in the circle.
It was an ‘odd’ game for the Lady Colonels on offense. They scored single runs in the first, third, fifth, and seventh innings.
Alondra Rodriguez came up with an RBI double in the first. In the third, it was Rodriguez with another RBI double to make it 2-0. In the fifth, it was Jazzy Tejada’s turn with an RBI double to extend the lead to 3-0.
Avery Adock added the insurance with a home run to center in the top of the 7th.
Rodriguez finished the day 2-2 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs. Avery Adock was 3-4 with the home run, an RBI, and two runs scored. Chloe Almy and Jazzy Tejada added two hits each for the Lady Colonels.
The win improves Christian County to 7-4 for the season.
