Muhlenberg County senior Dalton Brigance has been lighting it up on the mound so far this season for the Mustangs. Saturday against Trigg County was no different.
Brigance pitched 6 innings of one-hit baseball as Muhlenberg County blanked the Wildcats 8-0 Saturday at the Kelly Russell Classic in Russellville.
The senior hurler’s ERA is now down to 0.48 following his effort against Trigg County. Brigance struck out 12 and walked three during his time on the mound.
The Wildcats only hit in the game came in the top of the 5th, a one-out single from Nathan Simmons.
The Wildcats did not help their cause in the field as they were changed with four errors in the game, allowing Muhlenberg County to score three unearned runs.
The Mustangs scored one in the first and then put the game away with four in the second. They would go on to add two runs in the bottom of the fourth and one more in the bottom of the 6th inning.
With the loss, Trigg County drops to 4-5 on the season. The Wildcats are set to travel to Crittenden County on Tuesday.
