
Todd County Central eased to its third-straight win and second of the season over the Bluegrass Braves with a 10-2 decision on Monday night in Bowling Green.
Conner Wheeler set the tone with a first-inning home run, and Ty Jolly cleared the left-field fence to make it 3-0 in the third.
Lane Thomas’ RBI single provided one of the Rebels’ two runs in the fifth before the Braves got two back against Wheeler in the bottom of the frame.
Devin Schutt doubled in a run and Wheeler helped himself with an RBI single to make it 7-2 in the sixth, and Todd Central added a pair of runs on a Bluegrass error.
Wheeler beat the Braves for the second time this season after allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits with six walks and a pair of strikeouts over four and two-thirds. Jolly worked two and a third shutout innings with two hits and two strikeouts.
Wheeler finished with two hits and two RBI, and Thomas and Schutt each collected two hits.
Todd Central improved to 6-3 ahead of a matchup with hosts Hopkins County Central on Tuesday.
