The Todd County Central Lady Rebels hit the road to face the Russellville Lady Panthers Tuesday night, falling 4-3 in a close 13th District contest.
Russellville took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Todd County responded in the top of the third, tying the game 2-2 on a Lady Panther error.
The Lady Panthers quickly regained the lead, scoring a run in the bottom of the third to make it 3-2.
However, Rylann Griggs tied the game again for the Lady Rebels in the top of the fourth with a solo home run.
Russellville took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single by Mariyah Merriweather.
Both pitchers then settled in, keeping the game scoreless for the remaining innings.
Todd County Central lost the game, despite outhitting Russellville 7-5.
With the loss, Todd County Central’s record drops to 7-4 on the season. They will travel to Allen County-Scottsville to participate in the Holland Inc. Classic on Saturday.
