After playing late into the night in a 12-inning win over University Heights in the All A regional title game Monday night, you could understand the Lyon County Lyons opening a little bit off stride as they hosted Livingston Central Tuesday night in a 5th District contest. That didn’t last very long though.
After the game was tied 3-3 one inning in, the Lyons scored 15 unanswered runs over the next two innings to take an 18-3 three-inning win over the Cardinals. The Lyons scored four runs in the second and then walked off the win by scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the third.
Austin Spears, who hit the game-winner Monday night, ended up 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 3 RBIs. Korben Lucas was also 3-3. He had a home run and 4 RBIs. John Bingham ended the night 3-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.
Trace Walker got the win for the Lyons. He went three innings, giving up three runs, none of them earned, striking out two and walking none.
The Lyons had some issues in the field in the game, being charged with three errors.
With the win, which was the Lyons’ fourth straight, Lyon County improves to 7-4.
