Former University Heights Academy head boys basketball coach Terry Hayes, who stepped down after the 2024-2025 season, has been selected to be on the staff for the Kentucky All-Star team that will take on Indiana this summer.

Hayes will be an assistant coach for Bowling Green coach D.G. Sherill, who has been named to coach the All-Star team this summer. The pair has previously worked together at Dawson Springs High School and at Hopkinsville High School.

This year’s Kentucky-Indiana All-Star games will be played June 6 and June 7. The home game for Kentucky will be played at Lexington Catholic, while the game on the north side of the Ohio River will be played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Hayes spent two seasons as the head coach at University Heights, finishing his time with the Blazers with a record of 33-20.

Hayes spent 16 years as a head coach at Dawson Springs High School and Hopkinsville High School. His 2003 team at Hopkinsville went 33-3 and reached the semifinals of the Boys Sweet 16 before losing to eventual champion Mason County.
