Noah Herron pitched a three-hitter and doubled at the plate to lead Fort Campbell past Heritage Christian Academy 5-2 on post on Tuesday.
The Falcons’ win snapped a seven-game losing streak and was the first on their home field since April 22, 2023, following the recent completion of their field’s renovation.
Herron needed just 81 pitches to get the win, striking out four and walking three. Only one of the runs he allowed was earned.
The Falcons gave Herron all the support he needed with a three-run third inning. Michael Anderson and Gavin Haler led off the inning with singles. Herron drove in a run with a single to center field. A misplayed fly ball to the outfield allowed two more Falcons to score and up their lead.
HCA answered with a pair of runs in the fourth inning when Ethan Miles led off with a double to straight away center. Jayden Nichols followed with a bloop single to left, and both runners scored on a single by Collin Outland.
Fort Campbell added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. John Arnold reached on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Corey Baker.
Ryan Brewer coaxed a bases-loaded walk in the sixth for the Falcons’ final run.
Anderson, Haler, and Herron each had two hits for Fort Campbell (2-9, 1-3), who will host Hopkinsville on Thursday.
Miles had two hits and a stolen base for the Warriors (3-7, 0-2), who will host Todd County Central on Thursday.
