
University Heights Academy was in an advantageous mood on Tuesday, using 15 walks and four errors to pick up a 20-4 district win at Fort Campbell.
UHA scored six times in the first inning, highlighted by a two-run single by AB Hampton. The Lady Blazers added seven more runs in both the second and third innings.
Katherine Wood had a two-run single in the third inning that backed her pitching. She struck out six, allowed just two hits, and didn’t walk a batter. She also stole two bases.
Olivia Oakley and Maddie Williams added run-scoring singles in the third.
Fort Campbell scored a run on a Baylee Backes RBI groundout in the second inning. Hailey Herron had an RBI single in the third inning, and Backes was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring across another run.
UHA evened its record at 3-3 and moved to 2-0 on the district field of play.
Fort Campbell (4-7, 0-2) will host Heritage Christian Academy on Thursday.
