
Mackenzie Cooper recorded her best finish at the Operation UNITE KHSAA State Archery Tournament on Thursday in Lexington.
The Trigg County senior shot a 282 to finish in 49th place out of 296 shooters. It was Cooper’s third trip to the state tourney, becoming the ninth Arrowcat in history to make three trips.
Her previous best finish was a 279 and 78th place two years ago.
Madison Puckett of Meade County won the tournament with a score of 296, four shots better than second-place Brooke Lucas of Letcher County.
Caleb Wadlington shot a score of 279 in his first trip to the state tournament, which was good for 126th place out of 292 shooters.
Ricky Marlow of Richmond Model won the tournament with a score of 296.
