Gavin Mitchell pitched six innings of one-hit baseball and the Hopkinsville Tigers took advantage of five Fort Campbell errors Thursday night as the Tigers went to post and came away with an 11-0 win over the Falcons. The Tigers scored in five of their seven at-bats in the game.
The game was the second straight shutout win for Hopkinsville.
The Tigers scored two in the first, one in the third, four in the fourth, and then two runs in each the sixth and seventh innings in taking the win.
Gavin Mitchell had a big game at the plate for Hopkinsville, going 4-4 with two doubles, two RBIs, and four runs scored. Gavin Powell ended up 2-4, with a home run, an RBI and three runs scored.
Colton Ramos and Gavin Haler had one hit each for the Falcons.
In addition to allowing just one hit in his six innings of work, Gavin Mitchell struck out nine and walked only won in picking up his second win of the season.
