Hopkinsville Scores 16 in 8th District Win at HCA

The Hopkinsville Tigers have now won four straight games. The Tigers took advantage of seven errors from Heritage Christian Academy Saturday and rolled to a 16-4 five-inning road win over the Warriors.

The seven errors for HCA turned into seven unearned runs for the Tigers. Heritage pitching also gave up 10 walks on the afternoon.

Hopkinsville was shut out in the first inning but then scored in every inning after that. The Tigers plated seven runs in the second, four runs each in the third and fourth, and then closed out with a run in the top of the fifth.

Gavin Mitchell finished 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Joshua Embrey II was also 2-3 with a double, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Griffen Meacham ended up 2-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Cadyn Travis, Jadyn Nichols, and Collin Outland had one hit each for the Warriors, who lost for the third straight game.

Chase Fort started and went three innings in picking up the win for Hopkinsville. He gave up three runs, two of them earned, on two hits, striking out four and walking five.
