A split for the day for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels Saturday as they traveled to Allen County-Scottsville to take part in the Holland Incorporated Classic. The Lady Rockets dropped a 5-1 decision to Edmonson County and then came back to take a 6-5 win over Cumberland County.
Against Edmonson County, the Lady Wildcats broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the bottom of the third on their way to the four-run win.
The Lady Rebels run came in the top of the 3rd off an Edmonson County error and tied the game at 1-1.
Edmonson County pitcher Julie Norris limited the Lady Rebels to four hits for the game. Ella Hall, Naomi Welborn, Isabelle Hightower, and Aubrey Perone had one hit each for Todd County Central.
Abby Craig went three innings in the circle and was tagged with the loss for the Lady Rebels. She gave up four runs, just three of them earned, on five hits, striking out four and walking none.
Against Cumberland County, the Lady Rebels scored a run on a Lady Panther error in the bottom of the second to take a 6-5 lead and that lead would hold as the game ended in the bottom of the fourth inning due to time limit.
Both teams opened fast scoring 5 runs in the first inning. For the game, Todd County Central outhit Cumberland County 6 to 3.
Ella Hall was 2-3 with two runs scored for the Lady Rebels. Olivia Weikel, Dakotah Gammon, Isabelle Hightower, and Rylann Griggs added one hit each.
Weikel got the win in the circle. She went four innings, giving up five runs on just three hits, striking out two and walking five.
