Maroons Put 24 Runs Up in Win at Livingston Central

The final score looks more like a Maroon football win. Madisonville-North Hopkins scored 18 runs over the final three innings Friday night to handle Livingston Central 24-13 in Smithland.

The Maroons were the beneficiaries of 19 walks from five different Cardinal pitchers. Plus, they pounded out 16 hits for the night. Livingston Central was generous in the field as well, being charged with six errors for the game.

Madisonville scored five in the first and one in the second to take a 6-0 lead.

Livingston rallied with 8 runs in the bottom of the third to take an 8-6 lead.

The Maroon onslaught started in the fifth with 4 four runs, then six in the sixth, and closed out with 8 runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Alex Richards had a good night for the Maroons, going 3-6 with a double and 3 RBIs. Gauge Clark was 3-5 with 4 RBIs and two runs scored. Kolby Jarvis ended up 3-5, with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Blake Prow was 2-3 with an RBI and three runs scored for Madisonville.

The win was the fifth in the last seven games for Madisonville-North Hopkins (9-8).
