The search is underway for a new girls’ soccer coach at Lyon County High School. That comes after Abby Smith stepped down after six seasons on the job leading the Lady Lyon program.
Smith took over the Lady Lyon soccer team in 2019 leading Lyon County to a 9-13 record her first season on the job.
Her best year was in the post-COVID year of 2021 when the Lady Lyons went 15-3-2. She was also named 2nd Region Coach of the Year. However, the Lady Lyons were upended by Hopkins County Central in the 2nd Region tournament.
For her Lyon County tenure, Abby Smith’s teams went 59-52-4 and reached the 2nd Region tournament in every year but one.
