After the teams combined for 37 runs in an extra-inning Todd County Central win earlier this season, Logan County got some revenge on Tuesday with a 6-2 victory over the visiting Lady Rebels.

The Lady Cougars used a four-run fourth inning to get some breathing room, and Addison Cartas limited the Lady Rebels to four hits in a complete-game victory.

Todd Central took a second-inning lead on Dakotah Gammon’s lead-off home run, but the Lady Rebels wouldn’t cross the plate again until the top of the seventh.

Macie Clinard pushed the Lady Cougars in front for good with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, and they took advantage of two Lady Rebel errors followed by Madelyn Burgess’ two-run home run to stretch the advantage to 6-1 in the fifth.

Maliyah Merriweather smacked a solo home run with one out in the Todd Central seventh, but a pair of strikeouts ended any hope of a comeback.

Cartas allowed two earned runs with 15 strikeouts and a single walk to earn her fifth win.  Burgess finished with two hits and two RBI for Logan County, and Clinard drove in two runs.

Olivia Weikel took the loss in the circle, giving up six runs, two earned, on seven hits with five strikeouts and no walks.

The Lady Rebels slipped to 8-6, 1-2 in district play, ahead of a visit from Franklin-Simpson on Wednesday.
