The Caldwell County Tigers have a six-game winning streak after blanking Crittenden County 8-0 Tuesday on Senior Day at the VFW Ballpark in Princeton.
Scott Cortner (4-0) tossed a complete-game shutout for the Tigers, striking out nine and allowing just three base hits in the contest.
Caldwell (14-2), which had an eight-game win streak earlier this season, used four-run frames in the second and fifth innings to defeat Crittenden for the sixth-straight time.
Ari Wells was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in to lead the Tiger offense.
Wells had a two-run double as Caldwell scored four times in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead. Senior Luke Parker had an RBI single in the frame while another run came in on a wild pitch.
Three Crittenden errors led to four more runs in the fifth.
Drew Stevens doubled to start the inning, but the next three batters all reached on miscues.
By the time the inning ended, Caldwell owned an 8-0 lead.
That was more than enough support for Cortner, who did not walk a batter. He did hit one batter and another reached on an error.
But Crittenden (5-8) only had five baserunners in the contest and none advanced past second base.
Derek Wilson and David Ginn added singles for Caldwell.
Eli Lovell, Quinn Summers and Chase Conyer each singled for the Rockets.
Caldwell, which honored seniors Parker and Collin Whittington before Tuesday’s game, will play at home again on Thursday against Union County.
Crittenden will next host Christian Fellowship School on Friday.
