Peyton Williams got the Lyon County Lyons off to the start they needed Monday night in their All A sectional game at St. Mary. Williams started on the mound and struck out the first six batters he faced as the Lyons then scored 9 runs over their next two at-bats and went on to take a 9-1 win.
The Lyons now head to Daviess County High School Saturday to take on Walton-Verona in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament.
Williams spoke with YSE after the game Monday night.
