Two Owensboro pitchers combined to throw a two-hitter as the Red Devils got past Madisonville-North Hopkins 6-0 Thursday night in Owensboro. Cayden Ray and Trevor Delacey quieted the Maroon bats, which had racked up 34 runs over the last two games.

Ray got the start and went six innings, giving up two hits, striking out 11, and walking just one. Delacey then closed out the game pitching a hitless seventh inning.

The Maroons’ only hits for the night came from Ryder Sandidge and Alex Richards.

The game was scoreless for the first three innings. The Red Devils then scored two in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two more in the sixth to get the win.

Madisonville drops to 10-9 with the loss. The Maroons are set to go on the road Friday night to take on McLean County.
