Northwest, TN scored early and often on Friday to knock off visiting Fort Campbell 13-1. The Lady Vikings snapped a three-game skid to drop the Lady Falcons to 6-8 ahead of a trip to University Heights Academy on Monday.
Northwest pushed five runs across in the first to take control, highlighted by Chela Lassus’ RBI triple.
Hailey Herron’s RBI single in the top of the second provided the Lady Falcons’ only run of the night. Makayla Galvez and Hannah Stewart had Fort Campbell’s other two hits.
The Lady Vikings added two runs in the second and scored six more in the third, with May Barnholz collecting her third RBI of the night to make it 13-1.
Herron took the loss in the circle, allowing 13 earned runs on 11 hits with six walks and five strikeouts over four innings.
Northwest improved to 6-12 behind a three-hit, three-RBI night from Tavasia Buckley. Barnholtz and Lassus each finished with two hits. Isabella Coon earned the win, scattering three hits with five walks and six strikeouts over five frames.
