The Christian County Colonels won for the third time in four outings and ran their district record to 4-1 on Monday with a three-inning 21-0 demolition of hosts Heritage Christian Academy.
Coming off a KCAC state championship over the weekend, things went south quickly for the Warriors when Christian County’s Sebastian Dazey opened the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the first. Back-to-back RBI doubles by Aiden Lewis and Dazey extended the lead to 8-0 before HCA’s first at-bat.
Eddie Davis’ RBI double highlighted the Colonels’ ten-run second, with the Warriors not doing themselves any favors with a pair of errors and two hit-by-pitches bringing in runs.
Two bases-loaded walks and another Warrior error allowed the Colonels to tack on three more runs in the top of the third to cap the scoring.
Andrew Fincham earned the win on the mound, allowing only two hits with three strikeouts over three frames.
Aiden Lewis had two hits and drove in four runs, Dazey, Davis, Thad Toliver, and Preston Stokes each finished with two RBI, Blake Boehman collected two hits, and Gage Montes had a hit and drove in a run.
Nolan Young, Brayden Turner, Jackson Rodgers, and Leland Creamer each had an RBI for the Colonels.
Christian County improved to 12-10 ahead of a big district matchup with UHA on Friday. The Colonels took the first meeting with the Blazers 8-3.
HCA slipped to 6-14 and will travel to face Livingston Central on Friday. The Warriors were on the wrong end of a 14-12 score against the Cardinals earlier this season.
