Franklin-Simpson completed a season sweep and won its 14th straight in the series with a 15-4 victory over the visiting Todd County Central Lady Rebels on Tuesday.  The Lady Wildcats ran their district mark to 4-1, sending Todd Central to a fourth loss in five district outings.

The Lady Rebels took a first-inning lead on a run on a wild pitch, but Franklin-Simpson answered with Kloie Smith’s home run in the bottom of the frame.  The Lady Wildcats added three runs in the second to move in front, highlighted by Allie Utley’s RBI double.

Todd Central used back-to-back RBI singles by Maliyah Merriweather and Isabelle Hightower to push three runs across in the fourth and tie the game, but that would be it for the Lady Rebel offense.  In the bottom of the inning, Kloie Smith’s RBI double and runs on a pair of Todd Central errors opened the floodgates for a 10-4 Lady Wildcat lead.

Franklin-Simpson opened the bottom of the sixth with consecutive singles after the lead-off batter reached on an error, and Ava Holland sent everyone home with a three-run triple.

Olivia Weikel took the loss for the Lady Rebels, allowing 15 runs, nine earned, on 17 hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

Smith earned the complete-game win in the circle, giving up three earned runs on seven hits with a walk and four strikeouts.  Smith, Holland, and Kaitlyn Woodall all drove in three runs, and Utley and Jasmine Grover each finished with three hits for the Lady Wildcats.

Todd Central fell to 8-8 with a fourth loss in the last five ahead of a visit from Caldwell County on Thursday.
