With the nickname the Storm, it was appropriate that Saturday’s Hopkins County Central home baseball game was over when the weather decided it was over. Hopkins County Central scored in each of its four at-bats as the Storm took a 10-0 Senior Day win over the Fort Campbell Falcons.
The game was called by agreement of the coaches after the bottom of the fourth inning when another line of moderate showers moved across the already damp field with the Storm in control of the game.
Hopkins County Central scored one run in the first, five in the second, two in the third and two more in the fourth on the way to the win.
Gaige Brasher is swinging a hot bat for the Storm at the moment. Brasher went 3-3 with 3 RBIs and a run scored. Brasher now has a hit in seven straight at-bats. Tristan Schmaltz went 2-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
8th grader Neilan Bruce was on his way to a big game. He went four innings, giving up just one hit, while striking out eight and walking five.
For the Falcons, Ryan Brewer had the only hit of the game.
