Madisonville-North Hopkins used a 10-run fourth and took advantage of six Henderson County errors to double up the host Colonels 14-7 on Monday.

The Maroons won for the third time in four outings, improving to 13-10 ahead of a trip to Daviess County on Monday.  Henderson lost its fourth in the last six games to slip to 8-11.

Alex Richards’ RBI single got Madisonville on the scoreboard in the top of the first, and the Maroons led 3-0 after Lane Faulk’s run-scoring single in the third.

Brantley Harris, Evan Lear, Gauge Clark, and Jaziyon Latham drove in runs in a big fourth inning to give the Maroons a 13-3 advantage after four frames.

Henderson staved off a mercy-rule loss with three runs in the fifth, including a two-run double by Reed Clark, to cut it to 13-6.  Madisonville added a final run on a Colonel error in the seventh, and Maxton Meadows’ RBI double pushed Henderson’s last run across.

Lear earned the win on the mound for the Maroons, allowing six runs, three earned, on seven hits with six walks and four strikeouts.  Faulk finished with two hits and three RBI, and Matthew Yates, Harris, Lear, and Latham each collected two hits.

The Colonels are scheduled to travel to Owensboro Catholic on Saturday.
