The Hopkinsville Tigers can now focus their full attention on Friday night’s big 8th District showdown with Christian County after the Tigers took care of business against Heritage Christian Tuesday evening. The Tigers got a big pitching effort from 8th grader Joshua Embrey II Tuesday on their way to a 10-0 five-inning win over the Warriors.
Embrey went all five innings, giving up just one hit for the game. He struck out five and walked none in picking up the win for the Tigers.
Hopkinsville settled the game early scoring twice in the bottom of the first and then putting up seven runs in the bottom of the second. The Tigers added one more run in the bottom of the fourth to get the game to the ten-run rule.
The Tigers got the 10 runs with only four hits in the game. HCA pitchers struggled to find the zone, giving up eight walks and hitting five batters.
Dylan Sweeney, Chase Fort, Gavin Powell, and Gavin Mitchell, all had one hit each for the Tigers. Fort also drove in two runs for Hopkinsville.
Cadyn Travis had the only hit in the game for Heritage Christian.
