
Trace Walker got the start on Senior Night for Lyon, and helped pitch the Lyons to a 6-2 victory over 5th District rival Crittenden County Tuesday in Eddyville.
Walker went five innings, allowing two unearned runs on four base hits while striking out four and walking none.
Another senior, Brady Belt, shut out Crittenden over the final two innings on two hits with two strikeouts.
In all, Lyon honored nine seniors before the game
Crittenden led 1-0 on an RBI groundout by Jaxton Duncan in the top of the first inning.
However, Lyon countered with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
Eli Baker led off the inning with a double, then scored on a double to left by Austin Spears. Spears scored when Peyton Williams dobuled to deep left to put Lyon up 2-1.
The Lyons added four more runs in the second.
Colton Prow singled home the first run of the inning. A three-run home run with two outs by Spears extended the margin to 6-1.
Crittenden (7-12) got an unearned tally in the top of the third to finish up the scoring.
Spears finished 2-for-4 at the plate with four runs batted in. Williams went 2-for-3 and Baker was 2-for-4.
Korben Lucas added a double and Prow had the single for Lyon’s eight hits.
Hudson Stokes led Crittenden with a 2-for-4 day. Duncan had a double while Eli Lovell, Drake Young and Brady Dayberry each singled.
Young suffered the loss on the mound for the Rockets. He allowed six earned runs on eight base hits in five innings.
Lyon has won six of its last seven outings and is now 14-6.
The Lyons have now taken 12 straight from Crittenden.
Next up on the schedule is a pair of home games Saturday against Trigg County and Apollo.
Crittenden will go to Mayfield on Thursday.
