Melton and Winkler Named All-OVC First Team

A former Christian County Lady Colonel and a former Lyon County Lady Lyons, who are both playing at Southeast Missouri are among the softball players earning All-Ohio Valley Conference honors for their play during the 2025 season. The conference made the announcement Tuesday.

SEMO catcher Sydney Melton and outfielder Madison Winkler each earned first-team All-OVC honors. Winkler, who transferred in from the University of Louisville, also made the All-Newcomer team.

Melton started 40 games between catcher and designated player and ranks third on the team with a .350 batting average and is tied for second in home runs with five. She has 43 hits, 23 runs scored, 10 doubles, and 25 RBI. Melton is second on the team with 15 multiple-hit games.

Winkler is hitting .345 in her first year as a Redhawk and ranks fourth on the team in batting average, runs, and hits. She is second in both walks and stolen bases. She has six doubles, one triple and 17 RBI. Winkler also had a 10-game hitting streak.
