Caldwell County’s girls dropped a pitchers’ duel at Livingston Central 2-0 on Tuesday.

Addison Tramble struck out 15 and allowed just one base hit as the Lady Cardinals beat the Lady Tigers for the second time this season while improving to 21-3.

Alexis Wood also pitched well for Caldwell, allowing just two earned runs on eight base hits.

But Livingston used single runs in the first and third innings to pick up the win in Smithland.

The Lady Cardinals got their first run when Hadley Hargrove doubled to center with two outs and Emersyn Ramage followed with a single to right field.

In the third, Tramble led off with a single and scored on a single to center by Chloe Doyle.

That was all of the scoring.

Caldwell’s only base hit was a single by Josie Palm with two outs in the second.

The Lady Tigers did load the bases with one out in the third on three walks. But Tramble got a groundout and a strikeout to strand those runners.

Doyle was the only player in the game with multiple hits, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Livingston has now taken the last four meetings between the two teams but Caldwell still leads all-time 34-20.

Caldwell, now 10-11, will play at home on Thursday against Christian County.

Livingston will go to Trigg County on Thursday for 5th District action.
