
Lyon County’s girls held a 4-2 lead through five innings against host Daviess County Friday night.
But the Lady Panthers scratched back late in action at the Team Lauren Tournament in Owensboro.
Daviess (19-3) sent 12 batters to the plate while scoring eight times in the top of the sixth inning to turn a two-run deficit into a 10-4 advantage.
The Lady Panthers then scored four more times in the seventh to finish off a 14-4 victory.
Annie Newman was 2-for-4 with a three-run home run for Daviess. Callie Smith and Kylie Clark were each 3-for-5 and combined to knock in five runs. Smith doubled three times.
For Lyon, Olivia Moore was 1-for-2 and drove in three runs. Ava Prow went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Kamryn Timmons was the winning pitcher for Daviess, tossing the final four innings and striking out 10 while holding Lyon hitless over that time.
The Lady Lyons (11-12-1) will play two more games at Daviess on Saturday. They will face Hancock County at 9 a.m. and Louisville PRP at 12:30 p.m.
