Lady Storm Fall in Five Innings at Webster County

Webster County scored in every inning as the Lady Trojans rolled to an 11-1 six inning win Saturday over Hopkins County Central. The Lady Storm aided the Lady Trojans by committing six errors in the game.

The win was the second of the day for Webster County, who earlier knocked off Todd County Central.

The Lady Trojans scored three in the first, one in the second, two each in the third and fourth innings, one in the fifth, and then closed out the 10-run rule win with two more in the bottom of the sixth.

The Lady Storm’s lone run in the game came in the top of the fifth when Emily Ballard singled to drive in Ava McCord.

Webster County outhit Hopkins County Central 10 to 3 for the game.

Emily Ballard finished 2-3 with an RBI to lead the Lady Storm. Layla Sorrells had the other hit for Hopkins County Central.

Layla Scott went five innings in the circle for Webster County. She gave up one run on three hits, striking out eight and walking four.

Hopkins County Central (7-24-1) is scheduled to host University Heights Monday evening.
